QUESTIONS
What made you pick an Altezza as your car?
The day I looked at it in the garage and sat into it for the first time I knew I was getting it and it was the car for me.
Did you know much about Altezza’s before you got one?
Absolutely nothing , it was a friend of mine suggested I look at one so I took his advice .
Where did you get your altezza ?
It was bought from a garage in Waterford.
How long have you had your altezza?
Nearly 3 years.
How much you have spent on the car?
At a guess I would say,, Enough .
Did you buy your altezza modified or is it your own work?
It was standard Modellista spec straight from Japan , The rest is all my own work and ideas.
If its your own work, where do you get your ideas?
A lot of my ideas just came from what I think would suit the look of the car and hopefully create a better looking car. But sometimes I might like what someone else has done and try it out myself.
Why did you modify the car?
Good question . I never would have predicted it being so addictive but once you start personalising the look and other bits of your car you can always be coming up with new ideas and trying them out . Sometimes it doesn’t work but theres great satisfaction when you know you got an idea right and people give you good feedback or copy the idea.
What’s your favourite thing about the car?
The way it drives I'd have to say . I always love driving it. When I drive other cars I don’t get the same buzz if that’s the right word as I do driving the Altezza.
Is there anything you don’t like on the car?
The suspension is something I would like to eventually change when I have the money.
What part of the car would you like to modify next?
Coilovers without question. I have springs but feel the car would sit better with coilovers.
Where do you get your parts?
It varies , some from Nick the site trader , bits from ebay also other internet sites and my Toyota dealer.
Does price or quality make a difference when choosing parts for the altezza
,like if its cheaper to get the same part from japan or usa than here would
you buy it?
Some parts are over priced but quality is more important than price for me. It depends on the function of the part your buying though .
Have you ever got your car dyno'd? if so where did you get it done and what
was the result?
The car was dyno'd in June 2010 at Westward Precision Engineering and the result was 200.6 BHP .
Have you increased the power or done anything to try increase the power of
the car since?
No.
Have you ever had your altezza on a track ? If so where and what kind of
times did you have ?
Never had it on a track.
Does your other half know how much money you have spent on the car ?
She would have a fair idea, I think.
What is the worst mod you have seen on an Altezza ?
A Lime green altezza with the same colour interior.
What is your fav modified car?
Probably the Supra .
What cars have you had before the altezza?
Fiat 128
Ford Escort Mark 1
Ford Escort Mark 2
Fiat Ritmo
Suzuki GP 100 (motorbike)
Mazda 323F
Would you buy another altezza in the current climate or would you look at
something else?
I'd like to think I would , I think I’d would miss driving one.
Big Thanks to Ronan for doing the feature.
