diff

traded a type r civic for a 98 beams altezza goin great rele loveing the car very comfertable and quicker than i thought they were :D :D only problem the car wont diff 1st or 2nd gear just spins one wheel maybe the diff is on the way out wonderin whats the best one to put into the car help would be appriceated a lot thanks

traction control is on down beside the ashtray there is a trc button when ye press it it knocks the traction control off!! you'll see trc off on the dash

if you press the snow button it turns it on (when the snow light is on in the dash its on) that would stop ye going round

ya had it off only light on dash was trc off

I can be corrected on this...but You may not have an lsd.as far as I know they only came in certain models.there is a thread on here from which you can check your car details against.
If it does have a lsd and is reacting the way you describe you could have a problem alright.

Some altezzas come with an oen dif in them. If you put up the frame no from the chassie plate we can tell ya aslong as someone hasnt changed the diff in it before

You can pick up a second hand standered lsd for about €350

If you have a look at the chassis plate on the firewall you can see what diff your car came with from the factory.

All manual RS200-Z & L editions came with an LSD but on everything else it was an optional extra.

A01B = 4.100 ratio w Torsen LSD

sounds like an open diff to me man it was the same in mine till a coulpe of months ago till i changed it

anybody know of any way to ckeck for torsen diff with out looking at the vin plate or removing the half shafts

are there any marks stamped on the diff casing

I don't think the jack a wheel up will work with a torsen
