XNICKX - Nick's Tez

Postby xnickx » Thu May 27, 2010 11:58 am

Copied from the ACNZ build thread, was a slow one that started all the way in 2005!
However the VIP Garage section is hidden from normal members and only VIP members have access so most of you have seen it:
http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezza ... topic=4247

Anyway this is all copied and pasted from ACNZ so it might not all make sense but you get the gist of it :D

Mar 9 2007, 11:27 PM
In about August 2005 I took ownership of a Blue 1998 RS200Z 6MT, with 65,xxxkms from a former VIP member (Ridgy - a very silent member on the forums)
It was kit-less, had all the Z-Spec usuals like tints etc and was completly stock (except the mesh grill), literally a pure virgin hehe.
Here is a pretty early pic of the car when I took it for a roadie end of 05.
Image

Another random pic when xnickx was still a virgin (and still BRC992):
Image

Then followed my first mod for the car:
-Pioneer TSW-306DVC Sub-woofer:
Image

-Kenwood KAC8151 amp.
Image

I had these wired up to the stock headunit at the time, which shat itself in no time at all, then came the Alpine CDE-9845 headunit:
Image

Also got my Cat removed at around this time which now provides this nice (unique) tone:
Image

Soon to follow was LED lighting, went through a few of these.
-Blue:
Image

-Superwhite:
Image
Blue numberplate (my signature so not posting a pic)

Then came an Apexi Power Intake Panel filter (thanks frylai), and some Bling for the engine bay haha, Sard 1.3 Radiator cap.

Ok so my clutch fried itself this weekend so this is what I picked up hehe
TRD Clutch Disc:
Image
TRD Flywheel:
Image
TRD Pressure Plate:
Image
TRD Oil Filter:[/b]
Image

Got my Dynatron 5-Star Alarm too, god knows when though...

Saw these sweet looking indicators and picked them up:
Image

Image

-Then came the callipers, shaved it back to remove the ugly ridge:
Image

-Then paint and calliper stickers via ACNZ:
Image

Oh and another pic worth posting is when I got my car hand washed by the BP girls at BigBoysToys 2005 hehe:
Image

and the VIDEO hehe: Not sure if sound works though...

Then managed to get an Elegance Lip, which I never fitted or got painted and is now in good hands with Reg (Bad1):
Image

After that came my Xenon lighting, replaced all (low, high and fogs) with Xenon bulbs. Right after I got these I fitted my [XNICKX] plate, dont know why I left it for so long though...
(no need for pic as its my avatar).

Also managed to save up enough to get me a sweet deal on a full new set of Direzza DZ101s:
Image
Which I still think its better then my Eagle F1 GSD3s, and my Toyo T1Ss.
Tried Pirelli P-Zero and P6000, they were just more for the name then anything else I reckon...

Then I get to today, where Im more just maintaining the car and trying to save up for more mods, here is a anyway taken today:
Image

Well here is xnickx's FIRST ever cosmetic:
C-West Eyelids.
Image

Now just gonna wait till the Toms Styled ones arrive, and see which ones suit the car best :P

Pics of new ride height courtesy of OBX Adjustables.

Front (taken with crappy phone sorry)
Image
Yes car was dirty haha, wont have another chance to take pics for a few weeks, lending camera LOL!
Still has about 1/3 to go before it gets to the max lowness hehe.

Some more minor bling:
TRD Oil Cap
Image

TRD Rad Cap
Image

TRD Fuel Cap
Image

Think combined I gained 15KWs!! :o

Another small update.

The OBX Adjustables were a bit soft for my driving, so instead I swapped them for 2nd hand Bridgestone NPG Adjustables:
Image
(Non camber adjustable, only height)

Did a quick Google of Bridgestong NPG and apparently they are hardcore JDM... First time Ive ever heard of them:

http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/62581-np...gtr-shocks.html
I have these on my car, great coilovers, better than my previous Cusco's and Tein's.

They cant be bad if GTR drivers reckon they are better then Cusco and Teins :D

Seems like people also want to find out more about them:

Latest mod:

Dark Chrome taillights:

Now headlight painting coming soon :P

TRD 1.5 Way LSD (no actual pic, was 2nd hand for $300 hehe, installed now!)

Custom Carbon bits:

Also got a fuse box cover in carbon too, pics coming

Willing to swap my aluminium door sills for plastic items, please view here:

Ive actually had a full lip kit (Genuine Eurou Type 2 from Japan - even came with the Eurou instructions and bolts etc LOL) for over 12 months!

Never posted it here as I never got it painted and looks like Im not going to anymore, loving the low ride instead and Im getting crazy scrapes now as is anyway.
Check out how much lower the front lip is from the factory bumper... Bit too low for me now.

For Sale Link here:

Here are some pics though!
Image

Image

Image

(these pics must have been taken ages ago, no eyelids, stock ride height, no JDM Dark taillights, no carbon boot trim etc)

JDM Black (Flat black) painted headlights:
Image

Image

Look so much better in real life, used brand new headlights for painting and came out MINT!

Repainted my horns too, now also black.

A little present for myself/xnickx.

18" DTM RS GT (1.5" dish) - Black with Machined Lip.
Image
Why?
Trying to go for a Black and Blue theme, and the machined lip just looks awsome.

LOL here it is, GReddy TD04H-16T Turbo kit (And my exhaust in the pic too haha)
Image

HKS SQV:
Image

Apexi Turbo Timer (Black):
Image

New exhaust:
Image

From underneath
Image

Its a catback system, 2"5 inch.
Only went catback as the turbo dump pipe will replace all the forward piping, and the interpiping is all already 2.5".

Turbo down pipe:
Image

Greddy Strut Brace:
Image

Image

Here is the latest pic (after 4 1/2 hours...)
Turbo all on, with just a pipe going from the turbo to the inlet, FMIC to come when I can scrap enough $$$ together.
The Apexi radiator cap will go soon to make way for a Greddy/Trust item to keep everything under the bonnet the same!
Image

Was a bit worried about the heat still coming from the turbo, so made up a quick heatshield, which might stay in there (might tidy it up later), used silicon hose to protect from the shart edges for now LOL:
Image

Car going down to Milford Auto Electrical on Monday for the E-Manage to be wired up, and should be on the road Monday night!!!

The sometime during the week the flange for the HKS SSQV will get welded on, and the Apexi Turbo Timer will also get wired in by the weekend hopefully!

Oh and also fitted the infamously noisey Waffenschmiede Short Shift Kit:
Image

Current plans for the car (in order)
1) Sort out the clutch - Extreme 6 Puk, Brass Button plate, 1000kg Pressure plate and reusing the TRD Flywheel
2) Get a electronic boost controller - GReddy Profec-B SpecII
3) Get a safe tune for 10psi and if all is well, 12psi aswell - Speedsource
4) Fix the rear bumper which some knob did (hit and run)
5) New adjustables - Daiyamas probably, mine starting to sag
6) Find a new front lip and fit it with my Eurou sides and rear lips
7) Bucket seats - liking the new Bride Digos
8) ??? Unknown yet, gonna be hella poor after all of the above LOL

Latest additions:

Firstly a Frantik Turbo Beanie, after all the scares with heat issues under the bonnet, this is probably worth its weight in gold!
Image

Image

Black oil catch can for all the oil that I keep finding in the compressor housing, car loves to breath the black stuff...
Image

Image

Current overview of engine bay at its current status:
Image

New leather interior with electric seat controls
Drivers:
Image

Passengers:
Image

Back:
Image

Doorcards too:
Image

Exedy Racing 5 Puk, brass button facing clutch disc:
Image

Exedy Sports Tuff heavy duty pressure plate and release bearing:
Image

Will be using the TRD flywheel with this new combo.
Both Cashfree and I have just got the same kit, quite affordable, the kit is alot more affordable when compared to the TRD kits.
Just wondering how the puk clutch will stand up on daily driving... ... ... LOL

Time for another daily driver soon I reckon

Due for an update now...
The clutch combo works a treat! Pedal pressure similar to stock (no hard pedal which I would have prefered...) but the bite on the clutch is amazing!
You can feel the clutch start to grip and before I know it I've either left two small skid marks or stalled the car.
Worked great on the strip, was dumping 2nd gear and chopping 3rd gear during the burnouts and no slippage at all for the whole day!

More additions:
GReddy Profec B Spec II:
Image

Profec's super compact solenoid:
Image

Pivot grounding kit (blue wires by the battery)
Image

Old picture of the 540cc vs the stock 340cc injectors:
Image
They use the same injector seats even through you can see the different lengths at the bottom, still seat in fine and seals fine

Yes I know I'm selling but I couldnt help myself to a bargin.
2nd hand Toyo R888s onto the stock rims :P

Burst the braided oil feed last Sunday so had to replace it.

Oil burst oil line:
Image

New oil line (By Alert Motorsport, good price and good job too!)
Image

Slight delay in fitting the new line... Broke the oil feed banjo bolt:
Image

All fitted and back together:
Image

Since my car was off the road while the line was getting made up I took the opportunity to change my plugs, still using Denso Iridium Power IK22s still:
Image

Birthday present to myself beginning of the month:
Image

Fronts in:
Image

Didn't come with C-Spanners so got myself a set of genuine purple bling ones :ph43r: :
Image

Andddd a low pitch HKS SSQV insert, changed the sound to a lower frequency "flutter" rather than a whistle:
Image

Mini headache from the weekend, burst the silicon joiner from the turbo compressor housing to the intercooler piping:
Image

All fixed and back on the road though

Small update:
Diff Pinion was mashed, and I had feared that the TRD 1.5W LSD was toast too, but after replacing the crown gear from the damage inside the diff, the LSD seemed ok, of course, just to be safe I had replaced the bearings anyway.

Old Pinion:
Image

Also I found my filter was getting a bit dirty:
Image

I replaced it with a Blue item hehe:
Image

Also added the AltezzaClub Air Diversion Plate:
Image

Some shots after CannonBall with all the sponsors and car number:

Image

Image

Oh and added some LED Taillamps too and the Cusco Rear Trunk Bar from the GB, pics of the bar to comeSome shots after CannonBall with all the sponsors and car number:

Image

Oh and added some LED Taillamps too and the Cusco Rear Trunk Bar from the GB, pics of the bar to come

Recently added the following:
Carbon Bonnet
Blitz Front Lip
Eurou Type 2 Side skirts
Eurou Type 2 Rear lip

Sorry for the phone image but here is what it looked like:
Image

Blitz lip doesn't go with what I was looking for so I'm gonna be getting the Eurou Type 2 lip onto the front, should look similar to this:
Image

Better pics to come once I get the Eurou Type 2 front lip on :D

Firstly thanks for all the comments before, but I've pruned the thread to keep it simple.

Some quick snaps by xero on Saturday evening:
Image

Image

Image

Image

Carbon!
Image

Bride Brixs with std height Bride rails (which are still low LOL )

Need to give them a good clean though, few stains on them (especially on the passenger side)
Image

Image

Image

And got bored and had a buggered RH taillamp, thought it might do well gutted out, might have to cut the housing a bit more but not sure if I would bother with it on the track LOL

Small little birthday present to myself from last week hehe:
Image

Image

Sporting the custom slotted discs:
Image

Factory pads, genuine fitting kit and shim kit.

Got the old fittings out just waiting on my new ones from Figs Engineering atm :D

As seen in another post, my Supra BBK got a lick of paint and now on the car behind new wheels.

Lenso / Diezel D1Rs
18X8 +25
18x9 +40

Image

Image

Image

Need a bit more camber in the front so I can lower her a little maybe hehe

LOL Just remembered I had posted this a while back, glad to say I've done it all with a few minor changes got there in the end :D

1) Used an Exedy setup
2) Installed
3) Running 10psi daily now
4) Fixed that
5) HKS coilovers keeping the ground away from the car now
6) Eurou kit fitted!
7) Got seats, didn't get new Digos but they are Brides haha
8) Hmmm side tracked and resprayed the whole car, added a carbon bonnet too, got the Supra BBK and new wheels to suit the BBK... OK Time to start looking into the motor build now :ph43r:

Next do you ask?
Considering stage 2 for the engine!
Looking into the following:
Custom CP Forged Pistons 9:1
ARP Head studs (same as 3SGTE)
Eagle H-Beam lightweight or similar rods
ACL Main and Rod bearings
Garrett GT2860RS, GT2876R or GT3076R depending how much air I need
Custom stainless manifold
Tial 48mm Waste gate (or similar)
Apexi Power FC

While the engine is apart will do these too:
Cambelt
Tensioners and Idlers
Waterpump
Engine Overhaul gasket kit (valve stem seals and injector seals are the ones I need most)

Will also consider getting the block O'Ringed and possibly just a small head port/polish. Planning on leaving the head fairly stock with VVTI for now (stage 3 perhaps?)

Looking for 350-400 reliable daily horsepower... With the ability to wind the wick up for track days etc.

This is all just in the planning stages at the moment, if it was to go ahead probably wont be for another year or so till it starts...

>>
That's what I've got on ACNZ so far LOL!
This build has taken over 4 years to date! Lots of pain, heartache, and nearly sold the car a few times too!
Thanks for looking boys and girls :)

I'm fairly sure you know my feelings on this car already! Serious car dude, looks epic and a serious spec on it, not often you get so see one seriously modified so its nice when ya do! Whats it running at the moment on the emanage? Whens stage two likely to start?

I ended up deciding on the HKS Fcon as opposed to the emanage, I know I plagued you for prices for one but decided against it in the end, cheers anyway
