Diagnostic Trouble Codes!

Postby 3S-GE » Mon Apr 30, 2007 4:16 pm

I need help or info on DTC`s,

My engine managment light comes on after a few minutes of driving. i put our toyota tester on it to check codes,
I got two codes: P0500, Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction
P1656, OCV Circuit (Bank 1)

Im not too worried yet about the speed sensor, as all clocks are working.
The OCV sensor relates to VVT sensors, but i cant dig up anything in the manuals on this as it has Dual VVT-I. i have checked restance in both sensors and are the same, about 8.8ohms, i think. has anyone seeen these problems or know of anywhere i can get repair manuals for the altezza? i have tried downloading the file on altezza repair manuals that is posted on the forum, but no joy...

Any help at all will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Eric.

when i got my car 1st i had same prop i think when i got in and drove the car in the morn my engine light would come on but also mr trc light would show up and i could not put any power on the car till the oil temp would come up to about 70c so sent it back to jap cars and they said the airflow sensor was changed and they sent it to someone to get some work done with the injection system not sure what exactly but it cost them a total of 760e to get fixed, maybe you are having similar trouble
