Idling issue

Postby louisq90 » Fri Apr 01, 2016 8:29 am

Good afternoon,
Im having an issue with my 99 Altezza. Altezza idle jumps around when at idle temperature.
* Clean the MAF & throttle body
* Tested Coils
* New timing belt and water pump
* Good Fuel pump and filter
* Checked fuel injectors
* No vacuum leaks
* Tested Coolant temp sensor

Weird thing is the the only codes i get from the ODB II is 21 and 28 which are the o2 sensors.
But from reading a few posts, the o2 shouldn't cause idle issues.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

* Can it be the MAF even if i receive no CEL?

Check the throttle position sensor voltage, there a thread either on here or the altezza club of NZ on how to do it but it seem loads of people have been having this problem recently including me

Yes, that was the first thing i checked because many people were having the issue. I adjusted it to .78.
When i disconnect the MAF sensor the idle issue goes away and runs fine.

So does it only idle hunt when the maf sensor is connected? It could just be a dodgey sensor then?

Might be that the OBD-2 port (which works as OBD-1) does not give the information you're looking for.
I'd go with the last poster :)
