car insurance

Postby jarocki » Fri May 29, 2015 3:10 pm

Well my car insurance is up for renewal again. I'm 28. Been driving the altezza for 7 years now. Full irish for 8 years.no claims or penalty points. Chill quoting me 955 fully comp and 735 third party. Aaran insurance won't quote me. 123.ie won't quote me. FBD won't quote me. What's going on? have people here insured their car recently that have gotten better quotes. It's beyond a joke that i'm paying stupid money for insurance still. Last year it was 702 fully comp. Up 200 euro in 1 year. Nuts.
Thanks

That's over £1600 a year
I really couldn't do it, I'm considering getting rid of the Altezza after my most recent quote.

Got a quote with Flux Direct the other day and they want £450 a year with all mods declared; bit crap when I can insure my MR2 with I quote "more mods than anyone here has ever seen" for £198 a year. I am getting old at 27, no points and 6years NCB.

Thank for the reply. Has anyone here had their recent quote from Ireland though?

Some insurers now won't quote cars 13 yrs and older At New business In Ireland. not sure what's the reasoning but it will make it really hard to shop around for quotes.

Aviva won't insure cars over 14 years old as of the 22nd of May. The search goes on. It's beginning to become a pain to be an Altezza owner even after 7 years of having the car

I'm paying 10 months it comes to about 1400 iirc. Is mega steep but I had my 4 years ncb on the civic at the time, I don't have it anymore but I have to wait for renewal before adding the 4 years to it. Its stupid that they have separate ncb, makes it difficult to have 2 or more cars. Everyone else wanted 2k minimum with mods declared it was ridiculous.

I can't believe how hard it is to insure for you in Ireland though! I thought there was loads of old jap stuff over there
