Have a Beams 2000 auto. It is a private vehicle but is regularly used in police work (kitted with mini-bar light and siren), most often for rapid response and have a few good car chases every week. The problem is that I am in Zimbabwe where roads leave a lot to be desired. As a result, it takes quite a pounding with pot holes, and it is a tad embarrassing having to slow right down for speed humps in the middle of a car chase!
At the moment I'm at a point where most of the suspension system needs to be replaced, so I'm looking for ideas on how to achieve maximum stability and handling, while also being able to handle extremely bad roads at times. Being able to glide over speed humps without scraping anything (with 3 passengers) would be a huge plus. I definitely wouldn't want it any lower than it already is.
Where do I start? I am very far from being an expert and am pretty clueless on mechanical issues, so please use small words
Also, the budget is unfortunately quite limited, but if I know what to aim for, it would be a big help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
