ITB really helped on the overall throttle responses, but stock CR + Dual VVT was too conservative to make proper power at higher rpm.
The car feels very fast on corners, but needed more power to be "proper" race car.
So I have decided on install cams and raise up the CR.

-TODA High cam (295/285, 13.3mm/13.0mm)
-TODA Free adjusting cam pulley
-TODA Up-rated valve springs(for up to 13.5mm)
-TODA reinforced timing belt
-TODA thinner head gasket(CR : 0.5 up + planning to milling the head same time... to have least 12.3+:1)
-TODA lightweight flywheel + clutch

Going to overhaul the engine head(minor port+polish too) while I am at it. :)

I see you are running stock radiator, what temperature does it run after 3-5 laps? :)

Actually, it is from IS200(differ from Altezza radiator).
I usually cool down after 2-3 hard laps, so it doesn't go over 97-98 degree.

But, planning to upgrade the radiator with increased power.

It will be very interesting to see super high comp N/A build.
Why is it easier to run on TPS-only map? Do you run same AFR mixture through out whole map?
What about power steering fluid? Mine boils out even though I have a cooler.

I don't think it boils...
I believe and this is from my experience and knowledge gathered from other mechanics, is that there are pressure spikes in the system at high rpms...a deep reservoir with baffles should stop the pressure problem...also our reservoir is not that higher than the pump...so there is only a small pressure head difference...but I haven't tried any of this yet...the sr20 pump I think holds the pressure more stable than ours...but I don't have figures or facts to confirm this but I have 3 friends who changed to the sr20 pump and they don't get any overflow at high rpms...
Practical research is needed...lol...

With ITBs without the camber, TPS map usually works better because of higher resolution on higher engine loads.
AFR is different depending on the rpm and TPS. Runs from 16:1 to 11.5:1

Currently power steering has been removed due few reasons(different steering box pressure, steering fluid line locations, and etc)

Wow this thread is impressive, im hoping on taking my 3s-ge out of my tezza when I move out from Japan and build an is200 back in the states, but wow this looks like a lot of work! What would you recommend taking out besides the engine and tranny? I have the whole car to my disposal and I wont be moving for about another year so im trying to gather as much research as possible! Thanks!

Different engine/chassis harness and lack of VDC is most PITA on the conversion.
(Not to mention about power steering pressure, and many other oil/water line modifications)
After all, you will need to run stand-alone ECU with modified wiring harness which you need FULL understanding of Altezza and IS200/300 wiring.
I would recommend to take out as "whole car" if you want to do swap slightly easier way. (Still requires much custom works)

Engine, box, speedo, full wiring looms including the one to speedo and fuseboxes etc, there was someone o. Here that did it and changed everything but loom between ecu and speedo and it ran but speedo didn't work properly until he changed it.

This is an awesome thread, one of mg favourite on here due to the quality of the work.

Thanks for the replies! Im going to have to put in work! I wont be needing the speedo since it will have to be converted to MPH, but I will definitely be stripping the car down for all its wiring just in case lol. Did you need to use different engine mounts or could I use the ones for my rs200? Also what did you do about the OBD? In the states its a requirement for 1996+ cars to have it, I want to be able to drive the car in the streets...

Engine mount from RS200 will work.
3S-GE ECU does NOT support OBD. You no longer can have OBD.

Lately I have been busy with 190E project... but now here is some update.

Started to tear apart the 3S-GE engine head for the complete overhaul.
Semi-port/polish will be done while I am at it.
Inspected every single parts, and make sure the valves seat properly. :)

TODA goodies!!!

Because TODA cams are not just simple bolt-on cams, it required much head work to be fitted properly.
Not only we over-hauled whole engine head, we also went thru much fabrications.

Also installed KOYORAD aluminum radiator while I am at it. 8)

Removed super heavy stock flywheel with TODA lightweight! :)

I was able to shave another 30lb from the engine with all these work.
Here is finished result!!
