My name is Edward, I live in Los Angeles, California, been an IS300/ Altezza devotee for 11+ years now. Used to be a bimmer guy, I had a series of 2002's and 320i's, ending up with a Grey market Alpina C23 that was mildly built and a ton of fun... I was about to buy an E46 M3 in 2002 when I visited an old friend who worked for Lexus Sales, 24 hours later i drove home a brand new 5 speed IS300 and spent the next few days online researching what I could do to the car to make it faster than your average modded M3...
11 years later, I'm still in the game after basically (re) building this car from the ground up.. I started with chassis upgrades, SS brakelines, drilled and slotted rotors, Chassis braces, springs, shocks, an intake and cat back Exhaust + a few cosmetic upgrades, eventually testing out 4-5 different suspension setups, 7-8 different headers, 6 different exhausts, and 4 intakes, THEN..I started playing with boost in the form of several custom developed superchargers....
Today the car has been completely upgraded,... the only OEM parts still in the car are the drive shaft, body shell, rear axles, rear seat, and uprights and front lower control arms,...
The upgrade list:
Supra GTE block with GE head and intake Manifold, lightly ported. Short runner header, SS Y pipe, B pipe, and custom dual quad exhausts, custom developed Australian Raptor V Supercharger kit with intercooler, Greddy BOV, water/meth injection and 75shot Nitrous, custom 80mm GS400 throttle body ported intake manifold w/phenolic spacers, HKS DLI ignition, upgraded 420cc injectors controlled by a Greddy Emanage ultimate w/a Zeitronix wide band A/F ratio sensor, boost sensor. Exh temp sensor and display..Light weight alloy flywheel w/custom Centerforce clutch, alloy accessory pulleys, ATI Fluidamper Supra TT crank pulley.
Custom made Steel/Carbon Fiber half cage, Alloy rear seat floor brace. Area51 front alloy strut brace with custom Carbon Fiber triangulated fire wall braces, Cusco rear CF strut/Alloy 'V' brace, with custom triangulated Carbon Fiber Trunk braces, Cusco front upper control arms, Cusco front Sway bar, Eibach rear sway bar, TEIN Flex coilovers with EDFC damping controller, FIGS engineering alloy adjustable rear toe links and MEGA adjustable rear lower control arms, Aristo/GS400 Forged alloy upper control arms, Megan Racing adjustable Track rods, TOM'S racing rear subframe braces, Tanabe Sustec front and rear chassis braces, JDM Altezza 4.10 rear end w/ TRD 1.5way Differential, NA Supra W58 5sp transmission with B&M racing Short Shifter,
Stoptech 355mm Brakes drilled rotors at all 4 wheels w Goodridge SS braided brake lines.
The car is pushing 375rwhp at 11+ PSI with a very conservative tune, and a lowered compression ratio (9.2/1 Vs 10.5/1) without the water meth in the mix, tuned for Meth and spraying it pushes over 400rwhp and with nitrous spraying will exceed 475 rwhp to the rear wheels... that covers the running gear fairly well...Ill let the pictures show the exterior and interior mods. I have custom set of Recaro seats on lowered brackets with 4 point harnesses. I.C.E. is limited to a pioneer CD/DVD head unit with a small amp and 10 in. sub. I run 2 sets of wheels, a set of Volk Evo 4 monobolck forged mesh wheels 18x9x45 square...with 245/40 front and 275/35 rears for track, and a set of Volk GTS 19x8x40 and 19x9.5x40 with 245/35front and 285/30 rears for street.
The car has been daily driven for 8+ years its been a regular winner in car shows across california and has been tracked regularly at open track days just for shits and giggles and to put all these trick parts to good proper use....
its no show queen or poseur ride, i'm a huge fan of practical performance mods and feel the current trend towards "Hellaflush" super slammed cars with outrageous camber to manage ridiculously improper wheel and tire fitments is inane and in many cases dangerous, pretty much always just stupid as hell.
I look forward to learning more about how you guys trick out your cars on your side of the world, I have been an active member of Clublexus and My.IS for 11 years, and..................... i'll probably be buried in this car..
