All depends on where you live. You're in Africa aren't you? I'd class as that a hot climate so it's fine but if you live in Ireland, UK, NZ etc then 5w-30 is much better suited. The factory spec in the owners manual 5w-30/10w-30.tezzax wrote:okayy so the 5w-40 isnt proper for the engine?
You could still run a 5w-30 in a hot climate but you 'd want one with a HTHS around 3.5 like Shell Helix Ultra, Mobil1 ESP, Redline, MOTUL 8100 X-clean or anything meeting A3/B3 or C3 specs.
Which 5w-40 are you using our of interest?
