NA, turbo or supercharge?

Postby Dizz » Sun Apr 01, 2007 1:22 pm

Seems to be a fair few people looking for more power out of there cars (especially after the rolling road day :P ) so just wondering if you were going to tune your engine which of the following routes would you prefer?

Maybe you already have gone down one of these routes or are in the process...

I was thinking about the Turbo route but it seemed too much of a ball ache, always seems to be something to do to it, its never finished.
As reliablty was an issue for me I decided on the Supercharger and never looked back.
If I wanted 240+ bhp, i'd just get a car that produces that much from standard :)

Turbo... :D a nice small one otherwise costs get silly quickly....

Supercharged RS200 are too problematic

Agree with Lee, if it's big BHP that your about get a factory car that comes that way... S15 ... Skyline , scooby, EVO... etc

It would prob be turbo for me too although i'm torn between two answers on the poll. To turbo it as is or put a 1JZ into it. Costs would prob be similar once you could get a good engine for handy money. All a far off dream for me at the moment though

I dunno, i'm just na tuning mine and I'm getting to the point where it's all gonna be getting very costly soon, look at TB's Cams, pulleys but it's all silly money for new parts

if you go FI you need to uprate internals to run 1 bar boost always more money and there's always the knock on effect of parts failing

gonna try to tune mine so she's over 200hp at the wheels then not sure would like to do so much and spend a shed load of cash or think why don't I just get a R34 skyline
