Always get a new alarm/immobiliser fitted as you'd have to change the locks on doors, boot and ingnition barrel to do a proper job and as you said the control unit.
What's the matter won't the car start at all or is it just playing up, could bypass it for now to get it going if that's the case 8)

It's starts for a couple of seconds then cuts out, no revs either. I've changed the car from a turbo to standard so its hard to determine the prob, but my spark is sure that's wot it is (immobiliser)

My experience of immobilisers are that the car will start for a few seconds then cut out, but pritty sure tezza's have no immobiliser at all only remote central locking, have you check the coil packs and the wire feeds to the coil packs, when did the problem arrise before or after the swap, as something might have come adrift when putting her back together, also have you got the standard ecu in the car now? hth 8)

Altezza's don't have an alarm aor immobiliser as standard. The 2 or 3 button key will only work the locking and unlocking, some will beep and flash lights etc but still only the central locking. Starting issues ain't an immobiliser unless it was fitted as an aftermarket thing as there is no transponder in the key, the IS has them but not the Tez.
As said, get coilpacks checked. All grounds too. Check the air box or induction set up. Something is loose or not connected

I've got a funny feeling it is something to do with the air box or maf sensor or possibly the throttle body. I'll get all these things checked then I'll get back to u, @ rnd_audio, I'll get these things checked first then I'll let u know, thanks guys

that chip is just to send a signal to the locking receiver to control the remote central locking
