Timing mark

Postby mitchel » Sun Mar 27, 2011 9:46 pm

Hello all,I am about to do my timing on my is200 1g-fe.. the problem is I can't see the painted mark on the CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR part # 13521-70050
I am hoping to see some pictures of this gear to see how much teeth the painted mark is from the key groove
I got a complete timing kit from nick and will like to install it as soon as possible.

thats because there isnt actually a mark on the gear.

you need to set it up so the cam mark is on the right one ( cant remeber if its the line or the circle ), which ever one it is that keyway on the crankshaft will NOT be pointing straight up and down.

mark it will touch up paint or similar.

when the new belt is on, install the lower cover and harmonic balancer, turn it over to TDC and check the mark in the cam is in line (not the mark you used before)
