Greetings! Welcome to Tezzaworld website, unfortunately you are a few years late to the show as nearly everyone has been and gone, there is still lots of useful archived material to read through, not many active users unfortunately, but that’s the way it goes, hopefully you are not too disappointed...
I see that 5w 30 oil is recommended for the altezza, is this castrol gtx edge? Rang the tuning factory and they reccomend 5w 40 motul oil which is supposed to be the best oil on the market, would this be better than the castrol..The motul oil is however expensive at 28 euros for 2 litres so you are looking at 84 euros for 6 litres to service and have a bit left over.
What would be best guys?
I've used Motul in my old Integra. Got it in the tuning factory. There was a noticeable difference in how smooth the engine was. Andy Mo in the tuning factory is sound aswell and does his best to steer you in the right direction.
Ya thanks Gerbo and Dan..
Nice to hear someone that has used the motul oil and found it good.
Il price the castrol edge and see what i can get it for.
Either castrol or motul, both are still very good oil.
I use castrol edge i think its great stuff, when your driving the car the needle goes up a bit but then it stays there no matter what ur doin, and no the oil pressure gauge needle in my car is not broken!
Here Lads, thats crazy money for oil...
4.5 Litres of Duckhams 10w 30 is about 25quid and it does exactly the same job as all that expensive stuff as long as you change it regulary.
I'd only go to that expense if I was using the car on a track all the time.
I agree fully with you Dan, but the Duckhams oil is as good as any of the others for the Altezza.
5w30 or 10w30 can be used for normal everyday road driving, and as long as the filter and oil is changed as specified there should be no problems.
It just that some oil companies are very good at marketing so you can end up paying too much for a similar product..
