Emissions

Postby Tezzy » Mon May 21, 2007 9:09 am

Right so I failed the NCT on saturday, emissions and number plates. The number plates i can figure out but can someone give me an idea of what i need to do to sort out the emissions.

Data was as follows at 3000rpm:

Lamba: 0.991 (Should be 0.97 - 1.03) spot on
CO: 0.70 vol% (should be less than 0.30 vol%) FAIL!
HC 62 ppm (should be less than 200ppm) spot on

Any ideas lads?

Fook, there's a Powerflow sports cat on it, dunno if it can be bolted out or not. Would a fuel system flush and set of hot plugs be worth a shot?

I was told its a sports cat, i never paid much attention to it when i had it over the pit but as far as i remember it had a bulge like a cat, but a good point none the less ill check it out.

Enda can you remember from your test were your readings like mine, everything good except for the CO reading? The NCT guy seemed to think it was more to do with sensors he never mentioned the cat

I'll check my results this evening but doubt its the cat as there is no cat in mine. have a full exhaust system on it, i.ll check the results this evening.
