3sge turbo rod failure

Postby Mallyauto86 » Sun Dec 04, 2016 1:29 pm

Just wondering if anyone has heard of a 3sge spitting a rod out when boosted.
Only running 0.5 bars stock engine and blitz access ecu with good afr readings.
Happend on a 3rd gear pull at around 7800 rpm....
Car has been running fine for 7000km apart from having maf issues wich i had just fixed.....

Thanks for the replies.

Also if anyone has a block and head for sale .....

Bad tune, bad fuel, boost spike.

Detention/knock is your most likely culprit, and the rods being relatively thin from factory don't withstand very well and bend.

Oil wouldn't cause it, more likely to cause run bearings.

Motul 5w30 is a great choice of oil.

Also boost spike not really possible i dont think with the external setup i have.
