Postby seamors200 » Thu Apr 19, 2007 3:00 am

hello all was just wondering is it ok to add boost to car or will it cause any harm!! i have a 00" rs 200. also what is the best thing to do with the ecu in the car at the moment? should i change it to apeixi or something or leave the one that is in it and maybe get it chipped? all info on bringing the horses alive would be grateful!! cheers>>[/b]

Original ECU can't be "chipped".....

Octane boost is ok as the cars are designed to run higher petrol than we have in ireland....

don't really need an apexi unless you have performance mods...

original ECU is actually doing a good job compensating for irish petrol as proven by the dyno results back in march

btw... welcome to the site :D

Or run ur car on Biofuel, 104Ron! The amount u would spend on octane boosters u would save a fortune. Ill probably get it setup on mine at the end of the month

I use the octain booster all the time but more for peace of mind rather than expecting any benifit from it. I stopped using it for a while and did actually notice that the pick up was not as good but could have just been all in my head.

Haha, wasn't the healthiest alright... Not sure whether it was the petrol, the octane booster, the reset or the cars fear of the rollers lol

Hasn't happened before or since tho :?

depends what your looking for: induction kit exhaust, upgraded clutch and flywheel, turbo, supercharger etc!

Most people start off with the induction kit(use with AFC!) cat back exhaust.

thanks for that , there is what seems to be a cat back system already in place and some of the member braces ect for handling are also changed with light weight wheels in place also, possably racing clutch also from info gathered from a mechanic, so was thinking to add on full system inc. manifold and see wot that does. just out of curiosioty are the rs200 pumpin out 210bhp!!! was thinkin of gettin me motor on thr r/road.

Standard Altezza pumps out 210bhp running on 100Ron fuel, at the rolling road we had in March the average was between 195-200. Some lads having more done to their cars than others
