Turbo

hello there i am just wondering if anyone is runing a gtx2867r or has ran one before, what sort of spool from there?

any advice be great
(going with a forged engine)

Soiled ran a gt2871 which is pretty much the same size/airflow but the gtx 2867 should spool faster. I think his ran ojt of breath as the engines rev relatively high for stock rpms. I personally would run a t3 flanged housing or step up to a gt3071 for the same dollar and make more power

its a road car so dont need huge power anything over 400 ill be happy, also want as less lag as possible hence why i want an early spooling turbo

Id be looking at compressor maps if i were you. Going with a gt28 series means more psi to make the power. Fast response, oh yeah! Harder to make power, same boat. Most sr20 owners using the gt28 series run e85 to max out at a hair over 420whp at 21lbs of boost. Yet a gt3076 ive seen make 420whp at 16psi on an s2000, a 240sx, an evo. Correcr me if im wrong soiled but arent you on 21lbs and making 475whp? Small turbos can do the job, but forged engine and lots and lots of tuning will be necessary

im really not sure what to go for tbh, i know i want mininal lag and spool at 2500rpms, i find compressor maps confuseing as i can never fully figure out what i need to know to plot on map

I'm really not trying to be rude so don't take this the wrong way, but if you want spool at 2500rpms start thinking about a 1uzfe swap. You might get a turbo that starts spooling at 2500 rpms but you won't see good positive pressure until about 3300rpm. A small turbo like an evo 16g can get close to start seeing good positive pressure at about 3k, but being a small turbo it means running e85 because pump gas just won't do it, especially for the power output you are looking for. Small turbos are made for small engines from the factory with no intentions to make more power. There for the turbos maximum efficiency is going to be at 7-11psi, meaning it will make maximum efficient power here.

Theres always als :P or sequential turbos but that wont fit without serious mods, one of a kind tho!

if i was going to do a heart swap it would be a 2JZ,,,, yes i know be feck all power at 2500rpms but i see ppl saying there at full boost at 3000rpms
i just want early so less lag and a gud strong pull trough the revs to the rev limit if possible and yes i am keeping VVTI

i kinda agree with ooasport , i had a gt30 and it boosted well but about 4k

still on hunt for the ideal turbo,
