what turbo parts are needed!

Postby TuLegit2quitzz » Mon Feb 17, 2014 10:42 am

Hey lads. Had the altezza up for sale there as I wanted another car for a chance but decided to just buy a diesel and keep the altezza as a weekend car and something to keep modding. Unless I get good money for it.
Anyway. Iv recently seen a turbo kit for sale. Comes with a garret turbo and pipes and hoses and clips and downpipe and few other bits. I'm really thinking about buying it but I'm kinda useless when it comes to engine modifications so can anyone tell me the bits I need in order to turbo my altezza to about 280ish bhp. This is a bolt on kit it says.
I understand if your looking for bigger bhp like 320 and above there is a lot of work needed to be done to the engine. I'm really just lookibg for decent gains with a minimum amount if work. Don't mind doing some engine work as ling as it doesnt run into BIG money. Cheers lads.

The whole kit is there ya mate. Except the ecu. I don't think the manifold will fit either as its off a twin cam. But all the pipes and clips and intercooler and downpipe is there.

A manifold isn't the easiest thing to get for them turbo kits. You could be searching for awhile trying to find one lad.

I could of sworn I seen someone on here that can customise manifolds. mught get onto them. I was half thinking about going down the route of an Sr20 depending in the price. Could make some of the money back anyway from selling my altezza engine and box and what not.

Sr20 ports don't match up so will be pretty arse. Any fabrication shop should be able to make one no problem. I have one (steam pipe tubular) sitting in my garage with a t28 series flange if someone wants it, in NZ though so shipping may be a killer.

That manifold will work fine with a bolt on turbo kit will it?

Will fit any turbo with the 28 series flange, ie ones out of silvias, think the greddy kit td04, garrets gt28xx/gtx28xx etc

I had a Garrett GT2871r on there previously.

How much are you after for the manifold?
Would the turbo sit in the same location as one on a Greddy kit manifold?
