N/A Tuning

Postby Ae111RS200 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 6:10 pm

so i was just wondering if there is anyone here on the forum that have reached far in the N/A tuning? upgraded cams, valves, high comp piston and upgraded rods, ECU upgrades? i know it's very expensive to do but nothing else would make me more happy than you see a fully built NA tezza. antyime you search for Altezza videos on youtube it's either your seeing stock, slighty moded ones or turbocharged :( i mean where are the NA lovers? :?

I was an N/A lover.
Ran a 3SGE to 203hp at the wheels but then realised to go further than that would mean a gigantic expense (£3000 just for forging, mapping & balancing)

So I went for a turbo on the high compression, using the right turbo you have barely any lag (I had boost at 1700rpm) and you can even manipulate the VVTi to aid with spool for larger turbos (though this requires a very competent tuner which I'm yet to find).

I'm a n/a lover as well (blame vtecs  ) and only starting to get into the altezza scene lately after getting one myself, and I can see now why ya don't see powerful na altezzas; money. The cost of getting an altezza to be even remotely fast without forced induction is insane coz your gonna be going down the very very high comp/ stroker routes and in any car that costs big money but that seems especially true for 3sge's so for most people the ideas a non-runner before they even start, myself included

isn't there any company that ever invested in this before? i would just love to see one in action 8)... there are alot of 20v levin that had done na work with cams, ecu etc. and the cost to do the same to the tezzas are about roughly the same.

way too expensive to get even slight gains I would expect you wouldn't even see 250bhp from a n/a tezza or if you did would have pretty much nothing left of the standard engine, would have to but a stroker kit in although saying that if you went down the route of nos then you'd probably be seeing a fair difference but that is really the only way to go for n/a but depends if you want a car you could drive everyday
