Simple turbo Q

Postby Avinda » Thu Jan 03, 2013 2:33 pm

i have searched all over the net and i have gotten a lot of mixed reviews, i want to turbo my AUTOMATIC, 3sge motor. On my list is
1) T25 turbo (or 1 from a subby or evo)
2) mid - larger intercooler
3) greddy emanage ultimate
4) boost controller (not sure which yet)
5) tanny and possibly engine oil cooler
6) turbo manifold
7) I may go with either a recirculating valve over the BOV.

I want to keep the stock internals, so i plan to get a multi layer steel head gasket and run a MAX of 10psi boost a daily of 6psi.

saw many people saying to change rods and pistons. I just want a bit more pep out of the car with out all the money of the N/A build.

First off, the auto has different internals to the manual and has a lower rev limit. So straight away in my mind you would have less power. .

My advice would be save for a conversion. :?

id ask toyoya what is the standard head gasket first coz the one for the 1jz is a triple plate steel head gasket from the factory

your engine will take up to 12-13 psi so 10 psi daily is on the safe side
no need to to go any lower
if you get a thicker head gasket it will lower the compression rate and you can run more boost if you wanted

best turbo for this type of job is a percision turbo there not that much money and there new with warenty on them and loads of different types to suit budgets better then any nissan or scooby turbo

youl also need bigger injectors aswell the standard altezza ones will restrict your mapping to the point of you may aswell not have done it

your exhaust will also have to be uprated if you want over 250 bhp as its restricive to a turbo after that power band

any more help needed just ask lad
Do De Donut :P!!!!!

Also the TD04 from the subaru are way too restrictive for the beams. You won't have anything above 6000rpm.

Is the rev limit on an auto not 6500?

On the Altezza? 7250rpm.

Also the auto Altezza has a lower compression which enables another 1psi of boost ;-)
