Planning to Turbo a 3S-GE

Postby dark188 » Sun May 27, 2012 11:12 am

Hi,
I am new around here.
I recently bought a 1999 Toyota Altezza RS200 6speed Manual (everything stock) and I planning to turbo it
I don't understand so much about cars and that's why I'm here to ask you guys for help

I saw this turbo kit on ebay and I want some advice, if I could buy it or not.. If not, what turbo should I buy?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-T3-T4 ... 852wt_1397

I heard about BOLT ON turbos for toyota altezza. The only turbos that works on altezzas are those bolt on?

[Sorry for my english]

That's just a generic turbo kit so wont be well matched at all for the Altezza. GReddy and HKS both make good bolt on turbo kits deaigned apecifically for the engine in Altezzas and fit with little modifications.

Any turbo will work with an Altezza its just doing the supporting mods/work to allow it.

The topic has been covered a lot, try usingthe search function and read through previous posts. You will find the majority of the answers to any questions that you have.

GReddy kit with the intercooler kit, 550cc injectors, bigger fuel pump, 10psi and a good tune will get you there.

A friend of mine is selling these parts (2nd hand):
Greddy TD04H turbocharger (5000km)
Exhaust Manifold
Downpipe

The three things for $1000USD is it worth buying it at that price? (I don't know the prices hehe)
and I would like to know what parts should I buy to complete the turbo kit.. I can't search for turbo here I get no results because "it's too common"...new injectors, bigger fuel pump, intercooler kit, ecu what else?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english, I'm still working on it :D

4wd vs rwd completely different. Nothings a waste if its what the person wants to do.

Need an intake for the turbo too. Other than that you're pretty set with what you said.

BOV is good too but not needed.

turbo kit, clutch, injectors and ecu upgrade. try and buy a complete 2nd hand swap.
Ive had an evo 7 RS and an sti v8 imprezza and i still prefer my turbo DC5 and altezza (nearly superchaged), boosted 2wd is more fun.

I'd have to agree with ALEX on this, but if you are going to do it then get all new parts, 90% of the horror stories on here are from boys trying to slap second hand turbo's onto the tezza's also make sure and get someone who know how to map altezza's and has done one before

Best of luck and hope ya have plenty of cash cause its gonna cost ya
