ImageGreetings! Welcome to Tezzaworld website, unfortunately you are a few years late to the show as nearly everyone has been and gone, there is still lots of useful archived material to read through, not many active users unfortunately, but that’s the way it goes, hopefully you are not too disappointed...

Importing my Altezza step-by-step Diary - iansartoria

Once you've introduced yourself why not throw up a few pictures of your car or a project thread?

Importing my Altezza step-by-step Diary - iansartoria

Postby iansartoria » Mon Jun 20, 2011 8:32 am

Ok, as the title suggests i am going to (try) and keep a dairy of importing my Altezza.

From selling my current car to getting an import specialist to successfully bid on the car i want, finally to getting my car and driving away :)

So first stage, retain my private plates (not the ones currently on the Lexus)

Fill in a V317 form and pay £105 to retain the reg for one year (sent away 16 June 2011).

Ian.

Second stage - Sell my Lexus and buy a little banger :)

This is my Lexus IS200 Sport that i have just sold (hopefully - waiting on V5c to come back after retaining my registration plate - up to 7 days)

Image

Sold for £4500 (though with a full Lexus History and showroom condition as you can see, i was hoping for £5000 - still, nevermind).

And here is my little banger i have just bought (18th June 2011):

Image

Bought for £475 - had a battery issue and a starter motor issue but i have fixed that (with my basic mechanic skills) and is running lovely, fireing up first time, 98k, Tax till 30/08/2011 and MOT till Feb 2012, thought it was a good little car!

- Next stage, securing the sale of the Lexus and putting my deposit down!

Yeah that was the one :) tis a lovely car but as a 'car enthusiast' i just wanted a car with a bit more power and racing pedigree and as i love the inside of these cars + i need 4 doors as i have a little n', so the Altezza is the choice for me :) At first i wanted to downgrade and free up a bit of cash, but then decided, "sod it, whats a little debt anyway"! So here i am :)

hahaha those are some nice words man! If I had the money I would've bought that 200 from you at the time (I was in 2 minds, anyway) but now I want a Tezz too, hopefully by the end of next year...

Nice IS200 fo sure ! nearly a year ago i would of killed for one as a 04/54 reg seelling its a sport w/ styling kit, at the time people seeing them was either overpriced more than should be or bad condition for a 2004, i would of considered this one if it was on sale then ! so i ended up with a 53 reg low mileage one, what mileage is it ? i would of altezza but wanted somehting newer & 03/04 altezzas hard to find :(

Hi, yup it cost me a lot 10 months ago and with its FLSH it was a great find for me (i actually bought it without ever even being in a Lexus or even seeing & test driving the car - thats how confident i was, but it lived up to my expectations!) - The car has 69k miles - I am looking for an 01+ Altezza but i really am not fussed on age, its the condition (or grade in Japan) i am looking for as i am very pedantic :)
But once my £4000 deposit is down then the fun begins and pictures will follow and would be nice to get some feedback from everyone then :)

@choopz - Thank you, hopefully i will get some good info up which might help someone in braving an import for the first time like me :)

I am going through http://www.jm-imports.co.uk/ - i did think about doing it myself but its to big a risk with £1000's, i'd prefer to pay the commission.
