Tezzaworld March Feature ! ! ! (WELL WORTH A LOOK)

Postby Damok » Thu Mar 10, 2011 8:59 pm

Tezzaworld March Feature

Ok so I think we have all thought about it at one stage or another as a mod on our Altezza But a TURBO appears on everyone’s wish list from time to time. We all know that the Altezza is a good all-round car but it lacks a little power for its size. Well what we have here is what I would call a Mint Example a car that the attention to detail is to put it simply amazing. Every single part that has been put or even thought about for this car has had research upon research done before being fitted. Nick has spared no expenses putting this car together. So Enjoy !!

What made you pick an Altezza as your car?
Suited my criteria at the time, 4 door, non turbo, manual and rear wheel drive (cheap on insurance and gas/petrol)

Did you know much about Altezza’s before you got one?
I would like to think so, I had joined the Altezza Club NZ for 8 months before I actually bought one and also had been on Tezzawold to get as much info as I could.

Where did you get your altezza ?
Down the road from where I lived! Was an ex member of ACNZ and he was moving back to Japan

How long have you had your altezza?
Coming up to 6 years in August 2011! First 3 years I had Toyota Warranty on it so made no mods to it at all that was over with

How much you have spent on the car?
Ekk gosh,, I don’t want to start counting LOL, have kept all receipts but never counted them all, probably have enough to have decent deposit for a mansion!

Did you buy your altezza modified or is it your own work?
All my own work, got it stock as a rock, not a single mod on it at all

If its your own work, were do you get your ideas?
Didn’t ‘get’ my ideas from anywhere in particular, went for styling and modifications that suited my personal taste

Why did you modify the car ?
To fulfil my requirements, car handles very well (VERY well) but just needed more power.

What’s Your favourite thing about the car?
Handling, hands down. Have driven many many other cars on the track, albeit most were standard or had less handling mods but I am just super happy with how mine now feels on the track

Is there anything you don’t like on the car?
Lack of power still ! ! !

What part of the car would you like to modify next?
Something I can’t disclose just yet, but keep posted team! If something works out, car is up for a HUGE transformation!

Where do you get your parts?
Haha, wow do I need to answer this question? All through North Shore Toyota in Auckland, New Zealand and it’ associated manufactures and suppliers (Cusco, TRD, Toyota, GReddy and Trust etc)

Does price or quality make a difference when choosing parts for the altezza ,like if its cheaper to get the same part from japan or usa than here would you buy it?
Quality is the first factor, then availability, if it costs a little more to get the exact same branded quality part from somewhere else, I don’t mind paying if I did need it urgently

Have you ever got your car dyno'd? if so where did you get it done and what was the result?
Sure have, most recent tune resulted in 309HP @ the wheels on 12.5PSI

Have you ever had your altezza on a track ? If so were and what kind of times did you have ?
Sure have, all only “unofficial” times for the race tracks:
Pukekohe Race Track
1:12
Hampton Downs Race Track:
1:19
Meremere Drag Strip (1/4 mile):
13.129 @ 188KM/H

Does your other half know how much money you have spent on the car ?
Haha, I never know myself half the time how much I spend, So she will definitely not know .

What is the worst mod you have seen on an Altezza ?
Boso-zuku styled exhaust pipe extensions that came up higher than the roof!

What is your fav modified car?
Top Secret JZA80 Supra with the Toyota Century V12

What cars have you had before the altezza?
Isuzu Bighorn 3.1TD
Toyota JZS161 Aristo V300
BMW E46 318CI
Toyota ZZE122 Corolla
Honda DC2 Integra Type-R

I Can Take NO credit for this feature, Nick Took he pics and answered the questions. I just stuck it together
