My is200 Sport - Now Updated

Postby Ricky » Wed Feb 09, 2011 1:04 pm

We have only picked her up on Saturday. Currently the only modification done to it is 30mm Tein lowering springs all round. The previous owner had treated her very well, the interior is spotless bar one slight bit of damage on the leather in the back, and full service records from Lexus where neatly stashed in the glove box, again adding to my already impressed feelings towards it.

So far the main issues we have faced is a sqeak from the clutch spring, and another from the fan belt. Here however shows the corrosion on the wheels and a quick idea from my other half Denise to refurb them gold (below is only the spare which was just a test hence the half-arsed job)

As it stands I have no real plans going forward as we are still enjoying her as standards, but any suggestions or opinions very welcome.

Cheers guys and thanks Robin. By looking around at a few cars I have decided to try and locate what I think is a standard front splitter???

@ Danielle - I think the standard green tint will keep me going for a while lol. I really like it actually but i'll know for the future :) Yeah the clutch is annoying but hopefully I'll have time to sort it tomorrow.

Its an early model from 2000 :) I think the interior was the main selling point in the end to be honest lol.

Looks great, how you find the handling/comfort of the Tein springs ? I was close to getting that brand i got Eibach in the end. My old altezza had them style front door speakers :) + how common are irish/uk spec IS200/300 in Ireland compared to Altezza's ?

I have Eibach in my MK4 Golf but that thing is a boat lol. I like them actually its just as smooth as standard springs in my opinion anyway. The handling is spot on (bar the lack of power steering when not moving..... more work). Its a strange interior to be honest, I really have not seen it around even online so far, but yeah the speakers are pretty tastefully done. Where I am there are far more Altezza's. Truthfully I am the only one I know down here that has/ has had one as far as I know..... again a few have had Tezzas. Up the country though I know one or 2 in Dublin with one :) I think that again helped our decision in buying it.
