Been a long time since a post in this thread by me, mainly as I have just spent the last year or so driving and enjoying the car rather than having it in bits all the time  thats doesn't mean to say there has been plans under foot for future work

I see some of the pics are missing form this thread but anyone can find them on my facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/robin.hollier )

Anyway the last 3 or 4 months I have been test fitting parts and doing some fabrication

1st thing is the new fab work for the Z32 maf which will be installed shortly and a bigger front mount

planning

final test fitting

I had a stock bumper kicking about which I got for £5 :D laying in the garden which soon got attacked with a disc cutter.

with mesh cut out to fit over the fmic and the number plate
Image

with all the front cut out and fogs cut out
Image

as this was just for a bit of fun and on the cheap and not wanting to pay to get the bumper sprayed I decided to wrap it, so £40 late and 2 sheets of 1mx700cm wrap and a lot of evens in the workshop I finally finished it.

here come the marmite moment

when it was 1st fitted and in need of a front splitter

so thats all the inlet side of things sorted so.......................

all shinny and new looking

what management are you running for the z32 maf?

also they don`t like being close to the throttle plate.

what boost pressure are you running and when does it come on boost?

Saw the pic of you're little man with the turbo on fb earlier, made me smile.
Need to come for a ride next time I see you, seen it so many times but still not been in it, might give me some inspiration to get on with my engine build.

I'm not sure if you know twigglet but this engine has got a 2.2 low comp stroker kit and a blitz turbo kit so will be on boost a bit different to yours and probably higher boost too. And his maf has always been near the throttle, I thought it was a little strange when I first saw it too.

yeah i know its a 2.2l i saw it when i came to veiw craig`s tezza.
i was just wondering because mine seems to come on boost quite late at about 3500- 3800rpm
i need to set my e.b.c up but i cant see how that will make a noticeable difference because i dont want to set the gain too high.
tomo as yours is more similar to mine what boost and when does yours come in?
sorry robin for spamming your project thread.

I'm running a power fc at 0.8bar at the moment car boosting around 3500 and makes max power around 7250rpm

regarding the location of the maf we won't know till we start tuning it, The blitz turbo kit fits the oem maf in front of the throttle and I can see why, this way you can monitor whats going into the engine and not whats been pulled through the air filter so I have stuck to the same reasoning

Got the car all up together a few weeks ago and had a few weeks of driving it before leaving it at the tuners

Engine bay with a few extra painted brackets
Image

and the new clutch came from the states 2 days before dropping the car off

Image

The car will also be having a new suspension set up, mainly due to the GAB coilovers being hammered with a leaky rear shock and 2 cracked locking nuts on the coilovers.
New engine and gear box mounts will be going in as well from vibra-technics once they have been made.
