god that month went quick

still not got the gauges in yet, painted all the front face up and not to sure I'm 100% happy with how it's came out, but I'll take a pic of it and put it up soon. Also I need to sort out some fittings so I can fit the sensors in place in the sandwhich plate I also need to sort out the wiring for power to the gauges so gotta look behind the dash but probably get the feeds from power to the radio and 1 from the lights so the gauges will change colour when fitted. 1 of the other jobs on the list of many things to do is make a bracket for the power fc hand comander so thats in place as I'm not a fan of just sticking thinks to the dash, I want things to look like there ment to be there if you get my drift

I did get a few of the servicing jobs done on the car tho, so new oil and filter (3S-GTE) fitted and finally finished fitting the rear disc's and pads and the HEL brakelines also changes the brake fluid to Millers Racing Brake Fluid 300 Plus so all the brakes have been sorted for the time being

Image

Image

painted the centre of the disc's black on all 4 corners but you've seen pics of that before and managed to give the car a good clean inside and out as I had a bit of time of before japfest.

Image

Had my little helper helping me which has kinda slowed things done a bit over the last few months

I've finally (well sort of) got the gauges installed now

I had a sunday when I could get some stuff done so set about getting all the gauges installed and wired in and getting the cabels ran in place ready for all the sensors to be fitted.

here's a few pics of ripping all the dash out

Image

The top air vents and my head unit surround simply just pull off

Image

Image

a/c controls and radio removed (4x6mm bolts) and unplugged

Image

My helper

once all this was done I then spent a bit of time sorting out all the cables for the sensors, some of the cables had to be losely ran in from the engine bay as some of the plugs were a bit big to pass throught the rubber boot in the bulkhead.

Image

I removed the battery just to make the job that bit easier to do.

Image

also removed battery tray so I could run some cables under it, and you can see the rubber boot bottom right of the corner.

Image

I also had an extension cable for the power fc so fitted that whilst I had it all apart

with this done I could spend a bit of time running them in behind the dash. ( i was quite busy at this point and forgot to take pics) and connecting all the plugs up and wiring up and the 12v supply for the gauges.

but after some time I ended up with this

The boost gauge, oil pressure and oil temp sensors have been fitted since the pics and connected up.
I can't get the old egt sensor out the turbo housing as it looks to be in cross threaded  so will need to weld in a boss in the downpipe so I can fit it. also need to buy a few bits so I can connect the water temp in and machine up a fitting so that I can fit the fuel pressure sensor in as well.
so a few more pics to come still.

Looks good and tidy 8) What do they look like at night? ? Is that a radar detector up front?

The gauges can change colour between white and orange and I was going to wire them up so that when the lights were on they would be orange but I ran out of time. but think I will change all the dash lights to white in steed as they do look nice at night.
only thing is that the gauges are mounted flat so it will still open and close so you don't quite see all of the gauge from the drivers seat.

yep it is a radar detector, an old road angle 2 not been updated for years, doesn't go off when drive past camera vans  only really any good for your speed and black spots

finally got all the sensors in and connected up now :D , managed to get the old egt sensor out the turbo housing which was a bonus and saved a lot of time.

I brought 2 32mm 45degree elbows and a water temp sensor addaptor to fit in the house and made my own top hose, had to trim the legs down to suite but all worked out fine

Image

and fitted

Image

just need to spray the top mounts blue to match now

Image

sorry for dodge phone pic
left gauge EGT, Fuel pressure, Water temp. right gauge Boost, Oil pressure, Oil temp

Picked these up a few weeks ago for a very nice price, had a bit of a drive to go get them but was good to get the car out on a nice long run.

There ultralite taka's which are normally polished and I don't think I would of never have brought myself if they where but thought they looked quite good painted
Image

They look white in the pic due to the flash but there just in primer here. dropped them off this week to get sprayed.
