New Daily: 02 Facelift Altezza

Postby davemx-5 » Wed Oct 07, 2015 3:19 pm

Bought this over the weekend.

Don't shoot me ha ha!

Very nice car and very different to the mx5 in good and bad ways!

Small enough spec on it, but wasn't messed with and good solid original car.
-exedy clutch
-luk flywheel
-braided brake lines(standard brake lines there two)
-New battery fitted
-MAK 18 inch alloys
-full trd kit with new fogs
-trd dampers, haven't checked springs yet
-trd axle back exhaust
-trd spark plugs
-full leather interior with stamped Altezza badges

Going to daily this soon and plan is for a driving work in progress project.

It's a very clean car, I'm just very picky and needs a few bits doing.
-New Tyres
-Service
-Gearbox and diff oil change
-Coolant Change
-T/b and w/p change
-Clean up and scrapes etc

Looks a very nice, clean Altezza mate! :) Are those plates legal? Are you based in Ireland?

Enjoy! :)

Cheers! Yeah facelift dash as well! Got to get a proper look over it now next time I'm back!

Thanks! No they aren't legal, planning on a change to pressed alluminium plates when some cash free's up. Yeah based in Ireland.

There's actually another on Donedeal for sale with the same interior currently. Only two I've ever seen. Something different anyway!

Had a decent look round the car and can confirm:

-Front bumper is a shitty fiberglass copy (I'll get it fitting right)
-Shocks are kyp dampers and standard springs

Didn't get time to check over anything else unfortunately!

Got my new facelift headlights today.... should have this back to OEM faclift fairly soon all being well!

The connectors on the IS300 one's and Facelift Altezza one's are the exact same so yeah much better job than getting them from Japan!

All I need apparently is a 9006 harness to wire them back up. I am going to buy connector's for the auto levelling also and make that function again as the wires are all already there, just connections change to suit the pre-factlift headlights.

Tempted to go for these instead of the facelift rears though..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-Toyota-Altezza-IS200-IS300-Clear-Red-LED-Tail-Lights-LED-Trunk-Lights-/221587372696?hash=item3397a2fa98:g:FbgAAOSwU9xUTdLj

Really nice Tezza. Interior is savage. The rear lights off eBay look good. The stock ones still suit it. Either way that is one looked after Tezza.

Good work Dave - looking good!

Personally I prefer the round innards of the standard rear lights for the "Skyline" look rather than the LED ones but depends on car colour and they still look cool only on some colours can make them look a bit like a Beemer! (to me thats a bad thing but to some it might be good! LOL)

Thanks for the comments folks! Yeah I got really lucky when I bought the car it really is a fantastic example! Bought it before the prices skyrocketed in ireland as well!
Going to try tidy up that front bumper or get a 2nd gen legana front bumper as the fiberglass fitment is awful and really letting the car down!

The mx5 I have is a 93 s ltd! It's off the road at the minute saving for a few nice choice parts! Here's a link to the thread: http://www.driftireland.ie/forum/showth ... post525858

I've a vw T4 kitted and the fiberglass front and rear bumper I hate. Fibreglass is just awful so I understand where your coming from. Legana bumper are hard to come by but you should be lucky. Yep tezz a prices have lost the plot here. Back to 2010 prices. I was going to look at a mx5 96 model wasn't sure what they are like but your thread now has me thinking :D seems mods are endless for them.
