Just a heads up dudes, if anyone is interested, the greddy turbo kit will be going up for sale at the end of next month.

Will include TD04 turbo, manifold, injectors, downpipe, intercooler kit, whole exhaust including the kakimoto backbox, apexi power fc. Basically my whole setup being sold as a whole.

Engine and gearbox will be going as well.

Is the engine forged or stock?

Nope. I'll be selling the kit as a whole. Unless buyers come forward for all parts, then I will consider splitting.

Drain pipe will probably get sold as well. Gonna make a new exhaust for it.

So, something has happened over the course of the last few weeks....

Last time anyone will be seeing this engine in my Altezza....

Image

Got tired of putting this off, and figured the sooner I start, the sooner I will finish.

Image

Got a steel plate W58
Image

JZS161 engine brackets and mounts

Image

Notched sump from the same car

Image

MKIV Supra bellhousing

Image

And of course an engine from JDM Garage

Image

Apparently low mileage....but we will see how true that is once I have it in front of me.

A bit concerned about it since it was advertised as an Aristo engine even though its got JZX100 written on the cover.

Doesnt have ECU (will try source a m/t jzx100 ecu) Harness seems uncut. Says its missing pas pump... But ive noticed from pictures that were sent to me, that it doesnt have the starter, alternator and not even mentioning the lack of turbo inlet pipe.

Oh well....

Right! Thought id make a quick update.

Engine arrived after a rather annoying wait for the courier. But I wont get into that....

Image

Baaaah, straight off noticed a snapped VVTi solenoid

Image

As I expected, missing inlet and outlet from the turbo, along with the bypass.

Image

No alternator

Image

A gaping hole where the starter is supposed to be

Image

Will need to source an A/C pump and take it apart for the bracket, to support the power steering pump. Otherwise it will put a lot of strain on the pas pump due to vibration.

Image

At least all the plugs are there and uncut

Image

Also came with an igniter, bonus!

Image

Ehm

Image

Image

Turbo is a bit dirty, but has minimal play even with no oil in the bearings

Image

Image

Dont think the Japanese understand the concept of oil changes.

Image

Image

85,000km? More like 85,000 miles judging by this sticker

Image

Engine Normal!!

Image

Bought a refurbed PAS pump. Identical to the Beams one, pretty much.

Image

Also...

Image

Image

Slowly cleaned the sump from all the old oil

Image

Image

And popped the aristo sump on

Image

Fitted the intake aristo engine bracket and mount

Image

Turbo looks ok

Image

Fitted the exhaust bracket and mount.

Image

Had to bend the oil feed slightly

Image

And just out of curiosity, dropped the bastard in. Took like 5 minutes.

Image

Sump clearance - perfect!

Image

Bulkhead clearance - perfect!

Image

Altezza PAS line bolted straight up

Image

Slowly getting there :p

Slowly working away on the tezza in the evenings.

Got carried away cleaning the cam cover.

Image

Image

Got my gearbox

Image

Swapped the cable driven speed sensor for an electronic one from a spare box that I had lying around

Image

Altezza mount

Image

Encountered some issues though, gearbox came without a bellhousing, but it did come with a fork. Never bothered checking what setup it was from. Ended up s@3!, way too short. New one on the way from Toyota.

Image

Another speed sensor??

Image

Also decided to go change my rack bushes out as there was a fair bit of play in the steering and you could notice the rack moving.

Image

The new ones that came are s@3!, no metal insert, wtf?

Image

Still waiting on parts to turn up from JDM garage.

Still to do:
Run fuel line and fuel return on pass side
Modify fuel pump to accept return (stock fpr delete)
Extend shifter housing (Depends on the type of shift lever that I buy)
Wiringwiringwiring. Will be relocating ECU inside the car.
Exhaust fabrication
Propshaft
Buy flywheel and clutch
Run clutch line to passenger side
Replace water pump (OEM 1JZ has a plastic impeller)
Relocate oil filter and run a cooler (Anyone know of a decent 1JZ kit?)
Radiator
Intercooler and short piping past the lights.

Picked up a few parcels last night. Had no idea what it was. Opened them to find...

Image

Engine mounts and clutch left to buy in order to drop the engine in! Exciting! Shame I have no money left
