We have put few shims between gears on the LSD to lock the gears at initial torque. It's hard to explain, but even stock Torsen LSD does have two plates on the middle of the LSD.
You put shims between the plates to create the pressure between gears. This way will create some initial locking torque.


Aaaa, I didn't know that about Torsens. Must look into this abit more, before I pull mine apart..... Cheers.

Although my car had some issue with rear suspension and ECU, I got the 2nd place on our class. :thumbup:
Gotta get 2nd place once I sort out the little issues.
Just didn't have enough time to sort out the thing for first race day.

An amazing thread :D . Well done and congrats on the 2nd place. You have got an amazing set of cars there at BROS. Do you need an extra pair of hands at all,I'll even just clean the cars for you....all day long :lol:
Great photos,the girls don't look too shabby either :D I don't know which to look at more,the cars or the girls( the cars I think) :D :D

one quick question, how come the headlights have tapes on them?

It's just the regulation of the track.
The tapes suppose to holds the broken pieces of headlight if there are any accidents.

Did some regular maintenance for next track day.
Installed new plugs, new brake pads...
Also added Hardrace adjustable rear toe link + tension rod.
Gave 0 total toe on the rear since the GT wing is holding rear pretty well. :)

Part 13 : Stand-alone ECU swap!!


Because we modified stock i-ETAS to work only by cable, the Altezza ECU seems to keep learning the difference between TPS sensor and Accelerator sensor.
It caused some dramatic ignition timing changes over time, making car run poor as time goes.

So we believed it's time to go with stand-alone ECU. :)
Because of its cost and flexibility, we decided to go with universal stand-alone AEM EMS-4.

I also never liked the idea of running both ECU(stock and AEM EMS-4), we have made AEM EMS-4 to work truly stand-alone.
A/C and Dual VVT-i were also being controlled by the AEM EMS-4. :)

It does take some good amount of times and parts to make it wok...
I will post up the results(possibly some good dyno graphs) once I finalize the tune!!!

nice! you should post up a how to on how you guys did manage to get it truly standalone! and what are those things on the last picture? were there wires on them? How much wire did u end up using? Very nice project!

Those are resistors on the last picture.
Actually we did not end up using much extra wires. :)
The basic tune is already done. The car runs smooth without stock ECU at all. A/C and other functions also work.
