Insurance

Postby Daktorian » Wed Nov 02, 2011 4:18 pm

Howya lads,

Got a call from Quinn direct Insurance this morning (Went with Quinn because they insure me on my GSXR 1000 so get 10% discount)
To tell me they only realised my car is a jap import and that they will not insure it and send me a full refund,
Im 35 full license with 10 years no claims bonus,
I rang insure.ie, 123.ie, alliance and a few other and not 1 of them will insure my car becuase its a jap import.

Any idea's who i should call next..?

Thanks

Ring them up and say a contract exists and they agreed to insure it for the year. If they still dont change their tune, advise them you will be contacting the Financial Regulator for advise on this.

26, 6 years no claims, full licence, 2nd altezza with quinn direct..

One last year and one insured last month only.

I'd be inclined to ring em, speak to manager (be nice), and if you still having a no go, tell them you have no option but to either ring the ombudsname (ask manager for there ombudsnames name and number) or cancel your whole policy as you have no intentions of selling the car.

Only changed from Quinn to Aviva, they were half the price. Try a quote online.

Also try the AA as a broker i'm with them and no issue's with the tezza being a jap yoke,

also as has already been said i'd ring them and tell them that you've signed into a contracted and that it their tough luck if their employee's dont know how to do there job.

thats for f*ck all.. I remember nearly 10 years ago when I was 17 wanting to insure a peugeot 306 1.9 "diesel" they wanted nearly 9 grand. ended up buying a 1.4 seat ibiza and paying around 4k.

Between STi subarus, turbo'd silvias, ae86s, altezza's etc ive mearly paid over 500/600 on either of em. Perks of mid 20s :p
