rear fog light

Postby griderjn » Sat Jun 05, 2010 7:24 am

Hello all,
I recently posted in the newb's section and kind of touched on this.
I have an RS200z and i just imported it from Japan.
I am in the process of getting the MOT done.
I was told that the rear boot lights do not count as fog lights,
and that I need to have the auxiliary light mounted to the rear,
with a switch in the cab.

My problem is this: I would much rather just convert the car to the IS200/300 rear light configuration.
Has anyone else done this with their Altezza? If so, would you mind giving me a little help here.
I have gathered some wiring diagrams from several places to look at, so I guess I will eventually figure it out.
I was just hoping someone else had been in this situation as well, and could shed some light.

I appreciate any and all advice that any of you are willing to give, thanks in advance,
jeremiah

Would it not just be easier to fit a new light, say at the bottom of the bumper, with a switch inside the car? Get the car passed then remove the light. Save you rewiring...........unless you prefer the IS200 set up

rob,
i need to do the opposite of that, turn my altezza rear running lights into fog lights,
i was looking at that post, but it does not quite have the info i need.

raffo,
as much as i would love to just mount the fog light temporarily to pass MOT,
unfortunately, i am in a situation where i do not have that luxury.

i got the wiring diagrams, i will look at them this weekend.
i guess if i figure this out, then i could post the how-to here, for future folks.

still waiting if anyone else has a better idea.
thanks,
jeremiah

Well,
I ended up mounting the auxiliary for now.
But I will not be able to remove it until I get the modification done.
Once I do that, I will try to post a how to.
Thanks for all of the suggestions.
