Lost key, Ignition barrel removal

Postby blacknight » Sun Jan 24, 2010 12:12 am

Right so I am new on here just added a post in newbie section. Straight away I ve problem i lost my key last week and Toyota have said they cant do anything for me so i went to locksmiths in cork and they said theyd need the ignition barrel so i took off the plastic covers around it and found that where its attached to the steering wheel there are two bolts that cant be removed their cylindrical on one side and are flat and indented in the bracket on the otherside. I cant get any purchase on them. Any1 have any ideas? :?:

I did the exact same a few weeks ago and had to do the same! In saying that though I dont have a tezz anymore so I cant comment on how to do it. Sounds like its just being awkward though, it'll deffo come off, it has to! If you cant get it off get a mate or mechanic to look at it, someone who has a better range of tools. Take a pic if you can and stick it up to give us an idea of the nuts in question
