Air con cutting in with the heat.....

The only time I use it is if I'm in a hurry to de-mist the windscreen. Wastes too much juice otherwise :P

Also, if you are having to top it up, you must have a leak, as it's a closed system.

dont have a pic but all you do is pull off the l cap of the pipe and fill it tru there 8)

Not quite. If you don't use it the seals can dry out and start to leak. Then there's no real point regassing till the seals are fixed. Not sure about your side of the world, but here in NZ it's illegal just to degas, as the gas is supposedly bad for the environment. You have to get it done at an air con specialist, but they will usually degs for free.

Yeah it's illegal here too. I do refrigeration and air-con and when we buy a bottle of gas we're supposed to return a bottle of spent gas as well. The newer gases aren't as bad for the environment as the older stuff but they still don't like you letting it out.

The same thing happens in anything I work on. It's a sealed system (welded) but the gas still goes out of it from time to time.

The Altezza use R134a I think?

I get mine done with someone that has the air-con machine, about every 6months it about €60 a go everytime...

yeah saw on a programme once that one atom of the gas destroys 1 million atoms of oxygen or some such. Something phenomenal like that anyway :shock:
