ImageGreetings! Welcome to Tezzaworld website, unfortunately you are a few years late to the show as nearly everyone has been and gone, there is still lots of useful archived material to read through, not many active users unfortunately, but that’s the way it goes, hopefully you are not too disappointed...

Cam Gear Pulleys

Postby poTTa » Thu Apr 04, 2013 8:03 pm

Two, yes 2, of my friends mechanics took out the cam gears and dismantled them entirely...
Is this a problem? Can they be re-assembled or is it such that he will have to get a new set?
I've heard that once you dismantled a VVT-I camgear it becomes useless...
Is this true?

Cam gears should never be opened up, they contain spring mechs and all sorts.
They are factory jig assembled, therefore new set or second hand set required.
