Heated mirrors

Postby mike_01 » Sun Jun 12, 2011 10:02 am

Hi all just wondering if the altezza has the heated mirrors and do they come on with the heated rear window or was there never the option for this on the tezza's, how do I find out if they are heated as they don't heat up but might there be a problem with them? could they be fitted to the tezza anyone done this

I had to replace my driver's side mirror with a lexus one a while back after a pr!ck in a Volvo knocked it off and drove off.

The Lexus ones have a different connector and 2 extra wires (than my '98), so a little bit of investigation is required to figure out wich way to wire them up. You'll have 2 wires (+/-) for each of the motors (X/Y) and the two wires for the heater (+/-) - I think they were thicker quage wire and possibly both black but I can't remember.

You might be best running off of the rear window heater as this has a timer circuit to avoid the heating elements to blow, one less thing to worry about if wiring in a new switch etc.
