had a simular thing in mine once

solved the problem by dis-connecting and re-connecting the speedo cluster in the car, bit of a dodge connection, could be worth a try only takes 20mins and doesn't cost anything

before you do it just switch the car on and see where the neddle comes up to on the marker, disconnect and reconnect and see if there's any difference, mine used to get stuck on1/4 of a tank ran out of petrol twice   before I solved the problem.

There's a thread on LOC about this issue. I can't find it at the moment but I'm sure if you have a search you'll come across it http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ ... owforum=50

I read while doing research on a possible purchase that the gas tank needs to be replaced at 100,000 miles or the date on the tank.
Is that a good idea or mandatory? Is it enforced? Thanks

I had the same problem. I just disconnected the battery and reconnected it. Worked no problem. You just lose your Trip meter and radio settings though. Only problem with it.
Why complain when nobody listens?

I just did a 1JZ swap, but the problem occurred be for the engine swap.
Same s@3! as u guys having, needle never goes down always stuck at 1/4. Even when i fill up full tank, needle wont reach to the top.
Worst of all the warning light is always blinking.

Tried disconnect & reconnect the battery & cluster socket, still the same. I even changed the fuel pump along with float, no good.

Anything to do with the wiring after 1J swap? Please help...

My gauge started doing this after I turbo'd it, with a pfc and return fuel system. The gauge reads about 1/8 to1/4 of a tank more than what's actually in it, ran out of fuel a few times.

Disconnected the cluster and reconnected it and it worked for a few fill ups then I ran out of fuel on just under 1/4 tank again. I just make sure it doesn't get below 1/4 tank now.

The reason those with conversions/aftermarket ecus have problems is that the fuel gauge works in an odd way.

it actually counts how many times the injectors fire to calculate the fuel amount, then every 1/4tank or so checks itself against the tank sensors. Odd and overcomplex i know but thats how it does it.
