Hey i have an Altezza AS200, (the 1G-FE engine)i know its not great :( .
I've been looking for either a turbo or super charger kit.
the new ones are fairly expensive, and trying to get info from the lads that sell them is also very hard.
Been on to prolex-uk but they are sold out.

Does anyone know if the stock internals are reliable with forced induction.
Or would i need to go for forged internals. not going to be running mad boost either.

And if anyone knows of a second hand unit going for sale, could you point me in the right direction.

Here is a link of one i found earlier. What ye think everthing included.
http://www.statracing.com/apps/lexus-tu ... o-kits.asp

That enough tying for now. :D

a supercharged is200 produces 210bhp

and rs200 altezzas that have turbos only increase power to 240-260bhp so that kinda of increase in the as200 would only give you the same power as a standard rs200 imo.

would it not work out cheaper to buy an rs200 than paying for a turbo, ecu, and remapping.

just my opinion.
dont think it will be that easy to find a secondhand one

if you go on to the lexus owners club uk, one of the guys was selling his TTE supercharger, they usually go second hand for about £2000, ya just have to keep an eye out on there, the turbo root can take a lot of work, the engine would need new internals

I think for the jump you'd get in power you'd be better off getting an RS200.

White ones are the fastest

Don't do it!

The stock 1GFE rods only handle 6psi max, and on 6psi you make less power then an RS200's 3SGE at the wheels still!

ACNZ has had about 5-6 engines with holes through the side of the block due to s@3! stock rods.

3SGE FTW! (Or 3SGE+T)

How much work would be involved in swapping a 3sge for a 3sgte? Often wondered would it not be handier to get a crashed mr2 turbo and swap rather thar coverting the 3sge with after market kits.

Won't work as the 3SGTEs are FWD or 4WD engines (MR2's engine literally a FWD engine anyway), and the oil galleries etc won't work with out car cause the engine would be mounted the other way, head different too, and manifolds won't line up.

If it was able to be done many would have jumped on that boat by now :P

Cheers lads,

I was thinking that the internals were too soft, to take a charger.
Ah i justed wanted something different, not to many supercharged is200's going around. now i know why as nick mentioned.

ah dont know what to do. it would be hard to shift a car these days.
so i may be stuck with her. ah well. all for a bit of fun.

thanks again lads.
im off to enjoy the sun. :)
