Morning folks,

Front suspension has been making a few noises recently so time to have a check, this is what I found

No it is not safe to drive!
Only place you should drive it to is a garage, and that's being careful.

Broken coil spring not too good, would be more concerned about the fluid if it's comming from the damper or your brake lines the way it looks more like the brake lines

Many thanks for the replys guys, All the fluid you can see is where I have been spraying release oil so it should be easier to remove the nuts etc, when this gets changed, neither the shock of the brake lines are leaking

I am looking at a complete coilover setup made by XYZ at the mo as I have a friend that can get me a good deal, If I go down this route I will do a review on them and let you all know my thoughts.

Thanks for the advice.

Not too sure as they were fitted by the previous owner but they look a bit like "PI" ones, they look cheap, thats for sure.

Been advised, that as the break is on the strut seat they are safe to drive with but no hard cornering, going to order some coilovers for next weekend.

Looks good, Looking forward to hearing what you think of them

Have they damping settings on them ? Any pic's of the car on the ground with the wheels fitted just to see how it's sitting ?

Hi There,

Yes they are 30 way adjustable and you can choose your spring rates if you want.I have them set at half way at the mo so will see how they feel at that for a day then adjust them to find the best for my driving style. I will get some pics of the car tomorrow but I have lifted the ride by 15mm as itwas too damlow before and scraped on dead hedgehogs

Very pleased so far and got them from http://www.ctc-performance.co.uk/

Looks alot better :D I used to have coilovers on me old car for about 1 month that was all I could stand of them, especially when the springs bind and twang which is common on some to most coilovers and too stiff for uk roads  loved the car low though looked awsome althugh couldn't get over much
