Ticking Sound On Brakes

I have a constant "ticking" sound when driving at any speed. I can't really tell if its from the back or front. The slightest pressure on the brake pedal stops it, and as soon as i release the pedal, the sound is back. Ive checked the pad and shims, replaced caliper slide pins, and cleaned and applied copper compound to the back of the pads and between the pads and shims, checked shocks etc, but the ticking still there.

Anyone else experienced this?

I was told this could be a fault with the handbrake shoes, one bit bending out of shape and causing clicking.

Ok very interesting. Would'nt i get an abs error code if the sensor was dodgy, or does that only happen once its completely dead?

Regarding the handbrake shoes, if this was the issue, wouldn't they tick all the time?. Mine goes quiet soon as i touch the brake pedal, if i understand correctly, those shoes are only moved with the handbrake.

Quick update on this. Turns out the ticking was coming from the rear brakes. Removed the pads and throroughly cleaned them as well as the shims and the calipers. Then stuck a bit of copper compound on the back of the pads, and on all the contact surfaces of the shims. Everything back together, and no more ticking.
