Hsd coilovers really low at rear (pic inside)

18inch wheels

The front has about an inch or so it can yet be raised but as I got them I fitted them and raised them to max at the rear. Still too low.

My thought could be the coil is wound too much into the bottom shock as the guy I bought them off took them apart to clean them.

Will be tomorrow's job if its confirmed that's the case.

Thanks in advance

Newbie error, read up n it's the spring preload I was making stiffer, don't know why I never thought of it as it makes total sence now.

Lock or delete the thread, thanks

Thanks :) , it's the roads it's too low for, pretty bad roads over here.

My rears are on the lowest setting with quite a bit droop and it still doesn't look as low as that.
My exhaust hits everything though so I need to raise it a few mm.
What sort of adjustment do you have left on the front?

I'm not sure how far from maximum low they were at that point but it measured 300mm from the underside of the topmou t to the bottom of the visible thread on both front and back.
There now 330mm rear and 320mm front.

I raised the spring rate which I learnt also increases higher and hardness.
The spring rate is where I read advised, tightened till the spring is captive and no more, and on setting 8 (clicks from left)

Hope that helps a bit :-)

Thats hsd's on maximum low :( the front is actually a bit lower because I have RCA's fitted so I have a bit more drop than possible.

You mean the documents? Technical specs?

All I can say is, that they are the best coilovers I have ran so far. Wish they went a bit lower.

check. http://www.driftworks.com/hsd-coilovers ... zs161.html

peter are you running any droop on your hsd`s? how do you find it handles when you end a skid? mine seems to snap back into line violently which can be painful for passengers if they aren`t prepared (i nearly knocked my sister out using the window)
my hks coilovers are set with preload on the front with about 30mm of adjustment still left and the rears are maxed out with the locking ring removed and about 12mm of droop.
it hits the spare wheel well on speed bumps because the spring is too loose on the coilover but its the only way i can get the back as low as the front, the arse end of my car is completely stripped, even the spare wheel bracket has been cut out.
i was thinking about cutting the rear turrets and welding in a 30mm band so i could add preload and still have equal rideheights.

I dont run any droop man. But I am thinking about it once I get a new exhaust. Yea, the car can snap back to center pretty violently, but i learned to deal with it and just lift off more progressively. Or just transition the other way
But in general the car handles f*** awesome!!! Was at Driftland yesterday and did a whole day with no power steering and was linking the track by the end, absolutely mental setup and I think hsd's play a major role.
