The kit usually comes with a grease. Anything from clutch spline grease or CV joint grease can work. Only use sparing amounts and be careful not to burst the boot when pushing the pin into the bracket. Turn it as you insert it in so that the air and excess grease can escape.

For anyone who searches the forum, my knocking noise was sorted by changing the following;

Lower ball joint both sides
Upper ball joint both sides
Tie Rod End both sides
Drop Link both sides
Lower Castor Arm Bush both sides
Brake Caliper Slide Pin both sides

Hmmmm, wish I read this earlier. Could have saved you the trouble :D Castor arm bushes are the culprit most of the times :lol:

Yep, i did change those first. Knocking was significantly less, but still there. So i went ahead and got all the other stuff changed at once, now all quiet.

I had a very annoying knocking/rattling noise from the front and found that half my brake pad accessories were missing! If you look in the brake pads there are 2 holes in each 1 for some springs that go from the inner pad to the outer pad, 1 at the top 1 at the bottom. i got mine from euro car parts cost £6 and had them on the shelf Part No 107820178 a nice, cheap, quick and easy fix :)
