Spot the Suspension

Postby roberte » Mon Jan 07, 2008 10:15 pm

Hi,
Anyone know what ones I have here, or how to identify them?

The apexi ones have a serial number but Google doesn't bring up anything for them.

And these, just have "Racing spec damper" in English. The rest is in Japanese:

Yeah, the Apexi ones were thrown in the boot when I got them, so there could be bits missing alright. The Buddy Club ones were on the car so I know they are ok.

Hi,
Got some PMs about them already - going to be lazy and post replies here.
How come I have them off the car?
I put back the stock coilovers on the car after I imported it. I know I'll get lynched on a forum like this but they were too much for me. They were obviously set up for Japanese quality roads! I needed a car that's practical as well as sporty as I do quite a bit of driving for work as well as pleasure. The Buddy Club ones were fun on flat roads, but unfortunately I'm often driving on unfinished roads and estates with Himalaya like speed ramps and I winced every time I scraped the bottom of it. I took it to a garage, to see if they could adjust them but they said they couldn't, all they could do was put back the originals which were in the boot (I know, I'm not going back there again!). This was before I knew about this site and the LOC so I had no other option at the time.
Will I be selling them?
I reckon so. I did toy with the idea of putting them back on, now I know they can be adjusted, but I'm more concerned with getting the emissions sorted out right now! I'm putting together some other bits and pieces too like the HKS oil cooler (you might have seen the thread about it - the oil leak I had was a missing bolt on the engine, not the oil cooler at all) plus the speakers I ordered by mistake.
I'll put up a post in the for sale section soon with all these.

...pauses for a second, and thinks is it? Nah, it'd be plainly obvious. Wouldn't it?

I'm new to the area of performance cars, if you haven't guessed already. I'm finding out new stuff about this car day by day. :)
