iPhone4 question

Postby k900 » Wed Jan 12, 2011 12:06 pm

Hi all, can I watch on t.v., video files that I've downloaded and put on my iPhone? I can watch YouTube and video's that are recorded on iPhone camera. I have an apple av cable that's about 3 years old and it works fine with my iPod. So do I need a newer type of av cable for iPhone4 or is it not possible? I can watch downloaded files on the phone ok, just not when connected to t.v.
Cheers

u prob need a newer cable, apple is funny like that, its the new generation phone probably not compatible with your old cable, the new cables have some chip in them that tell the iphone that a cable is deteced. try ebay

Hi think you will need to jailbreak and get tv out2 if you want to play on tv. I had my skysports on tv through iphone and it was great. You can buy a cable on ebay from irish seller for less than €5 but yoi need to be jailbroken and using resupported from cydia.

if you're going to jailbreak dont upgrade past 4.1, anything after that isn't jailbreakable yet.

jailbreakme.com is the easiest way, there are better jailbreak sites but thats the easiest to use.

Sorted the watching on tv bit. The files Need to be converted to mp4.
As for jailbreak, I done that but found my battery was draining faster and the free apps weren't full or latest versions. I tried a few well known sat navs and they seemed to be a few years old. I restored the phone to factory settings and I'll just pay for the apps I want.
Would like to buy official sat nav but would it be out of date like the jailbroken ones.
