Car Wobbling

Postby Steve86 » Tue Aug 06, 2013 12:12 pm

Hi All

Greetings from down South.

My tezz has developed this prob and am deeply worried. I took the car to a Toyota guy to change my lower ball joints on Sat (a week ago), and after that took it for tracking and wheel balancing but the car is wobbling like it has low pressure or somethin. This is more pronounced when im driving slowly, like when im doin 40km/hr. No knocking noises from the suspension or what, its smooth and sweet, jus the wobbling which is givin me grave concerns.

Oh yeah, had 4goten, another prob is I cant drive it with my hands off the steering as its swaving to the left like sh*t, I have to drive it with my hand firm on the steering so it keeps goin straight.

As usual, looking forward to hearing from you...Thanks for the support guys.

Are your tyres all the same size and pressure.
Mine pulled to the left loads when I had a slow puncture in the left rear.
Also check your tension rods are tight.

chances are especially seeing as you just got tracking and wheel balancing done is very bad wheel balancing but more likely would definatly be tracking as these cars are so temperamental with tracking and if your car is pulling over to one direction you got a print out of the tracking? best bet is to hit tony at wim (wheels in motion) up, and get him to speak to the place if possible as there are a few way's to really bugger up the tracking especially if they don't know what there doing

Thanx twiglett-..Ya, my tyres are all the same size and pressure is fine too. The tension rods are tight, no play at all.

Sounds like the symptoms I had when my left wheel bearing was goosed!

Mechanic thought initially it was a ball joint but quickly realised that it was the wheel bearing.

Jack up the car and shake the wheel to see is there play in around the hub/center of the wheel .....

My car was pulling severely to the left until I changed the bearing.....

Hope this helps anyway mate.

It made intermittent vibrations depending on the speed I was going, the faster the worse it got.
