Full service kit for Altezza.

Postby sxe10mike » Mon Nov 28, 2011 8:56 am

Where could I get a full service kit for my Altezza (TB, WP, plugs etc etc). My mate tried the local Toyota dealership and they said they didn't want to service the car because it was an import. So I was wondering is it possible to buy the full kit yourself online or somewhere here in Ireland. Thanks in advance for the help.

Wow I thought Ireland was in recession? & they're turning away work? Makes you wonder how skilled their parts fitters must be if they can't service a little old Altezza

Carl if its not a hi- ace or an avenis there not interested! even parts you would want to gear the reaction when you ring up Toyota here looking for parts i know they never sold them here but still they make a big deal about it tell you it will be weeks before they have it and quote you a stupid price! You take the upper link arm i got it off nick in 6 days and it worked out about €150 including the express parcel, my mate rang a friend win works in Toyota and the best they could do was €185+vat which meant over 200 all in and it would take 3weeks to get! That's why nick is probably the biggest importer to this country haha he can't be beaten on price and service! may be a recession but its still called the rip off republic for a reason!

NZ was a bit like that back when we first started getting imports back in the late 80's but people soon cottoned on that they weren't going away & there was money to be made.
Nick must be making a killing from you guys 8)

There was a few that "specialized" on maintaining imports back when times were good but they used to charge a fortune for parts and service, but they've all gone! You can't fault nick go fairness you ask for it he has it or points you in the right direction!

The prices nick is quoting too are brilliant. I love Toyota but the you cannot get anything off the dealers if your car is an import or years old. A bit sad really. I am ordering the full kit off Nick next week. :) God bless that man! :)

No different in the UK. When the Subaru bottom end gave out I had it towed to my normal specialist garage that's had a mention in banzai magazine and did all my Honda work. They looked at it, confirmed the bottom end had gone and then asked me to take it back home! Despite my willingness to pay out they didnt want to do the rebuild!! Even worse they wanted it gone that day afer agreeing to look at it in the first place! Not been back since, got a drive way, an experienced mechanicfor advice and a service guide off the net. Saved me a fortune, but still shocking these garages don't want to do the work in this current economic climate.

Its very disappointing when you hear that. They look at a car like that and think they will have trouble with it. But its their loss after all. Where there is a will there is a way. :)

the Toyota dealer here doesnt like to service cars over 7 years old.
Last week they actually threw away parts of cars over 10 years.
It's friggin unbelievable. When you go there and tell them that their stuff is 3 or 4 times the cost of importing it they just shrug and say thank you.
It's really weird...

I work for a main dealer (not Toyota) & we service all years, we do get regular calls from people that have been turned away from dealers saying they no longer service over 7yr old cars!!!! Why I dont know there profit to be made from older cars and they have more ware and tear.

During the boom  they couldnt be arsed even pricing stuff for me in the main dealers and I am in the trade. They came up with as many excuses that they could "oh we would have to go back to miro film for that" "oh we wouldnt have any listing on that" e.t.c. so I just gave up on them.
Your completely right Carl for a country in the middle of recession alot of them have a funny way on doing business.
