OK guys, following on from a dyno run at TDi yesterday.
The only thing I have changed on my car is the air filter.
At Westwood Engineering back in March I had a power output of 153.5bhp @ 6470rpm at the wheels and 247.3Nm @ 5365rpm, this was worked out to 213.3 and the fly, which they worked out as a power loss of 39% through the transmission?
After yesterday's dyno run at TDi, the power at the wheels was 188.8bhp @ 6340rpm and 228.7Nm @ 4610.
So going by the 39% transmission loss calculated by Westwood, the engine should be pushing out 262.4bhp?
It is more likely though that the transmission loss is around 21%, which will actaully make the power at the fly 228.4.
So using 21% as a base the calculated power at the fly in March was only 185.7
Just goes to show nobody can actually be sure what power then engine is pushing out at the fly
I know a lot of factors affect the outcome which is why I am very happy with the result from TDi, as the room the dyno is done in is a totally controlled environment, which was demonstrated by 3 power runs with the graphs exactly on top of each other
The outside temperature was just as cold as it was in March
Just wondering if anyone else had any different dyno runs after the meet in March.
