how much extra for insurance?

Postby jarocki » Mon Apr 18, 2011 12:16 pm

i rang up my insurance company to get a quote for putting a front mount intercooler and turbo upgrade on my car. but they said they need an engineers report before they can do that? The whole idea of ringing them now is that i know how much extra it would cost on the insurance? Can anyone who got this done tell me how much more it cost? Im 24 with 5years no claims bonus and i paid 950 last june for the year. cheers. Im with 123.

X2

Thats what has insurance prices here so high, like not declaring a turbo your driving without insurance, so your paying couple of hundred euro or more for a useless disk only good enough for a checkpoint! Pointless in my opinion! Accidents happen and if a car is turbo'd and not declared bit trouble for the driver!

like it's said above, get a quote for a factory turbo'd tez, shouldn't be too far off the price..........but don't just fit and not declare, you'd be ritely f*#ked if something ever did happen

I'd say they didn't quote you because 123 are only brokers, not the actual insurers. Maybe ring around a few other places that were near enough to the policy you have and see what they say

I think how some lads get around it is trade insurance, they say they work on car's be it selling them on, Fixing them or just cleaning them. . Not worth the paper it's wrote on either if you do have an accident and the Insurance company look for proof of your business :? :?

@ Philsaltezza, Think before you speak man, , You just advised someone to break the law on an open forum,

rang up couture autos in dunboyne too and they said they were having problems mapping the greddy turbo kits. they say that the car runs lean? any reason why this is happening?hearing that they said that had people saying that two engines blew up
