A bad STI OR any boxer engine has the capacity to break your heart in my opinion thats why i would stay clear. :?

Saying that I am 100% an EVO man over an STI simply because you know an EVO is going to break and your wallet and hear before you buy it

with subaru its very important for them to be mapped to irish fuel that is the main problem with them if you keep them serviced every 6000 kilometres or so they are a great car i would quiz your man about if he got it mapped or if he was running it on e5 with lucas.

i had a legacy b4 before i got the altezza i loved it.the legecy has the same ej20 block as the sti but the legacy is twin turbo coz it is a good bit heavier i think if you get a good engine sti you will be sold and evos are heaps of scrap they are always blowing engines and turbos coz there mivec and turbo subarus are just turbo and much better maby a little slower but better :D

Evo 9's only had mivec technology and i was talking to a guy at the cavan show who had a 700 bhp evo 9 and he said the mivec 4g63 was bulletproof! As for subaru's as long as u keep the dccd serviced regular and along with the engine their a good reliable car!!
