Window tints

Postby moomoo » Wed Jun 17, 2009 3:38 pm

Is there any legislation on tinting the back window. I want to get the darkest tint possible to make the back window blend into the roof but all the side windows will be untouched.

Will there be any hassle with cops and NCT?

Mine came from Japan tinted very dark, never had any hassle with either. The only hassle I had was reversing at night. I sorted that pretty handy with a camera. :)

Is it not just 65% light has to pass through the front side windows, no tint on front and 5% light pass through on the rear windows?

Wheres Damien when you need him?

well you have vans and trucks driving around with no rear windows so im sure you can totally black it out on cars too. I could be wrong though!

you can have the all ur back windows as black as ur boot.

but the front has to let 90% light in. if you put the proper stuff on the front u'd hardly even kno that it was tinted. waste of time.

Mine's pretty much opaque from the outside. The side rears and rear window are like that. It's hard to see on this pic but all you get are reflections:

It has passed the NCT twice like that and guards have had plenty of opportunity to ask me about it, but nothing was ever said.

hmmm not too up on tints.. as far as i remember it's illegal to have any tints "STUCK" on... the tint actually has to be in the glass itself.. and all can be tinted except windscreen..
never argue with an idiot... they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience... :D
